70 miles, 2970 feet of climbing
Hooray, a sunny day, warm to start. My legs are starting to feel like they’ve checked in for the ride. We began by crossing the Hudson river on the Walkway Over the Hudson, a pedestrian/cycling bridge. Here’s the view to the south from the walkway.
Near the end of the ride, we crossed the Delaware river, carrying considerably more sediment:
One of our riders had his rear derailleur attack his rear wheel shortly past the walkway. Later, another had his derailleur hanger break off of his frame on a climb. Mike fixed the first at the first SAG stop and a local bike shop was able to fashion a replacement hanger for the other bike. One was riding that day and the other the next day.
Here is a farm along the route:
The delay in my posting this and yesterday’s pages is due to insufficient internet connectivity at the hotels.
